Hello

My name is Anna Worm. I am a sophomore English major in Language and Literature planning to become a librarian. I am actively involved in the camopus Students for Life group and spent a semester in the Civil War club. I have six younger siblings and no pets. I enjoy reading, sewing, and making popsicles with my roommates.

I really enjoy reading academic and entertainment blogs online and hope through this blog to learn more about adapting information from the classroom to new media and communication forms. I’d like to explore areas of World History that don’t receive a lot of study and share them with other people.

Introductory Statement!

I am Ashleigh Thomas and I am orginally from Brighton, Michigan.

My major is Group Social Studies with emphasis on Political Science. My minor is School Health Education. My goal is to teach high school government classes. I applied to GVSU’s College of Education this semester, so I am anxiously awaiting my letter in the mail.

Outside of class, I am involved with Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, of which I am a founding member of my chapter. I also participate in the mentor program of TRIO Educational Talent Search. I work at Soles for You, a shoe salon and boutique in East Grand Rapids.

I hope to gain a better appreciation for early world history through this blog. I want to develop my understanding of how and why significant historical events occurred and their implications for world events today. Additionally, I want to expand my writing skills and my ability to use technology in the classroom.

About Me

My name is Ben Kuzniar. I am 21 years old and graduated from Allendale High School in 2006. In high school, I played football, baseball, basketball, and power lifting. I am the youngest of three kids with two older sisters.

After high school, I attended Grand Rapids Community College for two years before transfering to Grand Valley. Currently I am just a few credits short of being a junior. I am a Social Studies major with a minor in English. After graduating from Grand Valley, I hope to become a high school American History teacher. While teaching I would like to help coach football.

In my free time, I love to work out. I work out six days a week. I believe that if working out is a hobby instead of a chore, then it will be easier to stay in shape as I grow older. I also love to watch movies and watching television.

Michelle's Introduction

My name is Michelle Ankley and I am a currently junior majoring in Art and Illustration.

I am from Sterling Heights/Utica area which is located around south-eastern Michigan. I have an older brother, a younger sister, and a black lab beagle mix dog named Rubi. I was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted as a baby.

Next semester, I am planning on studying abroad in Japan with my roommate from April until August.

I love music, movies, and my nintendo DS. My favorite celebrities are Bruce Willis and Stephen Colbert.

My name is Andrea Patrick. I am from Northville, MI which is about an hour west of Detroit. I am a sophomore at Grand Valley State University, and I am majoring in group social studies for elementary education. Some hobbies of mine are golfing, snowboarding, art, and fishing. The most important thing to me is my family, because without them I wouldn't be where I am today. I have no prior experience with Blogs so hopefully I will get the hang of it quickly. Through this assignment, I hope to learn more about history, since it is a part of my major. I also hope to learn through my peers and see their perspective on certain topics.

Hello, my name is Chelsey. I'm originally from Marysville, MI which is about an hour north of Detroit. I am a Music Education major with an emphasis in Saxophone. I've played the saxophone for 11 years and plan to teach in a high school setting after college. I am a sophomore at GVSU. I also like to swim, bike and run. I'm definetly a very active person and enjoy doing things outside. I have never done a blog before so this is definetly a trial run for me. I hope to learn more about history through this blog and look forward to getting to know everyone better!

About Me

My name is Emma Schroeder. I am from Rockford, Michigan, and I am 20 years old. I am a Junior at Grand Valley and I am majoring in biomedical sciences. I hope to get accepted into chiropractic school after I graduate from here. I ride horses and play the bass guitar. I enjoy doing anything outdoors, like hiking, biking, camping, etcetera. I have ADHD and I am easily distracted. I like working out, especially lifting weights and running through the woods. I love watching movies, especially comedies and anything with action and gore, however I do not watch much TV. Besides equestrian, my favorite sport is football.

As far as getting something out of this course, I obviously hope to get a good grade, like everyone else. I also hope to gain a better appreciation for history, as it is one of my weakest subject areas and I get bored with it pretty quickly.
